Elkland Search & Rescue 31st Annual Trout Derby
May 2nd & 3rd 2026
- Derby Location: East Branch of Clarion River, Glen Hazel Bridge to Bendigo State Park.
- Date: May 2nd 7 am- 7:15 pm and May 3rd 7 am – 2 pm, 2026
- Check In Station: T & J Storage Glen Hazel, PA
- Entry fee: $25 – Mailed by preregistration date
- $26 – On-Line by preregistration date
- $30 – After April 17, 2026
- Pre-registration:
- April 17th, 3 pm – 6 pm @Elkland Station ($25.00)
- May 1st, 3 pm – 8 pm @check in station ($30.00)
****ALL RULES/LAWS MUST BE FOLLOWED at Bendigo State Park****
You Must possess a valid Pennsylvania Fishing License and an official Elkland Fish Derby Registration Button. Children under the age of 16 only need a registration Button. Buttons must be visible at all times.
- NEW: You only need to present the tag from the fish at the Check in Station. Fish must only be presented in live condition to be entered into the Kids Big Fish Contest.
- ALL fish MUST be legally and fairly caught. NO snagging or trot lines are permitted.
- Only 5 tags per day
- Anyone suspected of cheating will be disqualified.
- Please, OBEY PROPERTY OWNERS RIGHTS AT ALL TIMES!
- Entrants may begin fishing at 7 am May 2nd, 2026. NO TAGS WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER 7:15 PM
- Entrants may begin fishing at 7 am May 3rd, 2026. NO TAGS WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER 2 PM
Any entrants fishing prior to 7 am on May 2nd or 3rd WILL be disqualified.
NEW—COMMUNITY FISH:
The community fish will receive 50% of proceeds if you are a participant. If you are not participating in the community fish, that will pay out $25. That individual will draw one name, if that person registered for the “community” fish, that individual will receive the other 50%.
KIDS BIG TROUT CONTEST:
All Properly registered children, 12 years of age or under are eligible for the “kids big trout” contest. There is no cost for this event. The three longest trout (tagged or untagged) will receive: 1st place – $50, 2nd place – $30, 3rd place – $20.
Note: only one (1) cash prize per child.
